The hunt for the perfect sunscreen continues. The one I’ve been testing currently is the Esfolio Sunscreen – Multi Grain Sun Cream variant (there’s also a Blue Flower variant). Will my search end here? Read on to find out!

Packaging, scent, texture
The Esfolio Sunscreen is a minimalist’s dream, packaging-wise. It comes in a white tube that’s a bit nondescript save for some pops of orange.
The product itself is also white in color and has a creamy consistency. Now, as far as the scent goes, I believe it can be polarizing just because the fragrance is incredibly noticeable. It smells good, don’t get me wrong! (It’s a mix of floral and soapy to me; definitely not the typical sunscreen scent.) But if you’re iffy about fragrance in your products, in general, you may not appreciate this one too much.
Ingredients
In case you’re curious about what’s in this sunscreen, here are its ingredients:
Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Phaseolus Radiatus Seed Extract, Glycine Max (Soybean) Seed Extract, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Chenopodium Quinoa Seed Extract, Chenopodium Quinoa Seed Extract, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Dipropylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Titanium Dioxide, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Niacinamide, 4-methylbenzylidene Camphor, Octocrylene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, 1,2-hexanediol, Sorbitan Stearate, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Chlorphenesin, Hydroxyacetophenone, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Arginine, Xanthan Gum, Fragrance, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Disodium Edta, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Aluminum Hydroxide
You may have spotted the grains on the list — on top of having the word multi-grain in its name, of course — and that’s the second most important component of this sunscreen. It promises to not only give you sun protection thanks to SPF50+ PA+++ but also brighten your skin with the help of this multi-grain mix.

Application
I apply the Esfolio Sunscreen the way I usually apply sunscreens — using the two-finger method, in layers. The tube packaging helps dispense the product easily, which is always a plus in my book. We don’t like wasting product here especially in this economy!
The product glides on smoothly on the skin. It feels like a cream and has a similar texture to other sunscreens though it has a bit of a heavier feel. That doesn’t mean it’s not easily absorbed though! It’s pleasant to apply and doesn’t feel cloying. It also gives off a dew finish once completely blended.
I found that this stings my eyes a bit though, so I’m just careful when I apply in that area.
Final thoughts
I’m about to finish up my tube of the Esfolio Sunscreen and I’m pleased with with it overall! It’s a great everyday sunscreen that’s pretty affordable and reliable. If you’re looking for something to use daily and don’t mind strong scents, this one’s a really good choice.
