One day I just woke up and realized I needed a new eyeshadow palette. Not really. But I’ve been avoiding doing my eye makeup for some time now because the other two palettes that I own are shimmery, and they do nothing for my hooded eyelids.
I was planning to buy the palette from a new local brand but the mall near me doesn’t carry them and they’re sold out online, so I just looked for an alternative. I’ve seen the Essence All About Nudes eyeshadow palette online before but it wasn’t only ’till late this month that they were made available here, I think.
The palette has eight nude shades that lean towards the warm spectrum. There are three shimmery shadows and five satin-matte shadows in the palette.
Packaging
The Essence All About Nudes eyeshadow palette has a clear packaging and is lightweight. I don’t really mind the packaging of drugstore products, this one included, but I’m afraid it will suffer the same fate as my Essence All About Matt translucent powder. My powder’s lid has left its base, and after a few months, I think this will too.
Colors, Texture and Pigmentation
The colors are different shades of brown. On the palette some of them look very similar, but when swatched they’re not really alike. These shadows, to my surprise, are very soft, very velvet-like — even the glittery ones. They’re a bit powdery but I’ve not experienced any fallout when I used them. They blend easily and the pigmentation is good. I find that using a primer works best for this product, though.
Wear
The colors stay on for about six hours max; it fades away a bit after that. I’ve not tried using this wet yet, so I can’t say if that would help its wear.
Is it rad or bad?
For P329, I’d say it’s a decent product. It’s perfect for people who are just starting to learn how to wear eyeshadows properly.
