Happy Skin Cosmetics started with a makeup lineup, but I’ve only ever tried skincare from them — their first release and the Happy Skin Pimple Patch.
At 32 (at the time of writing), pimples still plague me. It has been a year or two since my last breakout. But, boy, was this year’s breakout big. (In case you need a reference, just think of a mung bean). I usually leave pimples be because they go away after some time anyway. This one was pesky and on top of my cheek, though, so I couldn’t just ignore it. So I immediately looked for a pimple patch on Lazada.
You’ve probably already heard about that popular pimple patch from a Korean brand; it’s one of the pioneers. That was the first that came to mind, of course. But I thought I’d try one from a Filipino brand instead this time. It was a toss-up between two brands, but I decided to pick the Happy Skin Pimple Patch because it has 15 patches only. I thought if it worked, then I wouldn’t need too many patches anyway. So how did it fare?
Packaging, claims, first impressions
The product comes in a pretty, minimalist teal and peach sachet. The patches are placed on a plastic sheet — it’s worth noting that its sheet is thicker than the Korean brand’s I’ve tried in the past — that’s covered securely by two other plastic sheets. The patches are average in size and looked quite thick at first.
The Happy Skin Beauty Invisible Pimple Patch is a hydrocolloid sticker that contains the it anti-acne ingredient of the moment, Cica (or Centella Asiatica) and it claims to be “undetectable.”
Wear and use
You’ve probably already seen those that come in star, flower and heart designs, but the Happy Skin Pimple Patch come in good ol’ transparent. They’re thicker than the one I’ve tried in the past, but I wouldn’t say that’s a bad thing.
As far as undetectability goes, I think it has to be thinner to be counted as such. It doesn’t bother me at all, though. I don’t mind being spotted with one on (and right now, nobody except my husband and daughter is gonna see me anyway).
The plastic sheet the patches come in is sliced in such a way that it helps you remove the product easily, without tearing it.
As far as wear goes, though, I give this product major props. If you want a pimple patch that won’t budge except for when you take it off, this is it. I used it while working out and while I thought it wasn’t sticking well at first, I realized it actually held up through lots of movement (and as you may have already assumed, lots of sweating too).
It feels comfortable, too. You won’t even realize you’re wearing it. I know; I forgot I had one on before washing my face and only realized it when I felt it with my hand.
Results and final thoughts
Even with all of that said, I’m sure you’re here for one thing and one thing only. And that is to know whether or not the Happy Skin Pimple Patch works. The short answer is yes.
The long answer is it was able to make my huge pimple’s inflammation subside in just hours. I washed and moisturized my face and put it on as soon as I received the package in the afternoon, went about the rest of my day, worked out — that’s roughly eight hours. My pimple was already smaller when I took it off before showering.

My husband had a breakout, too, and I put one on him before going to bed. The next morning, the pimple was already dry.
I’m sure you can already tell that I like this product and recommend you try it. Before I do that, I think I have to address the elephant in the room first, and that is its cost. The Happy Skin Pimple Patch retails for P159 for 15 patches. (That’s roughly P10 per patch. For comparison, the most popular pimple patch retails for P200 for 24 patches. That is, give or take, P8 per patch.)
It is pricier than others, but I think the pricing is fair for its performance. And it turns out I was right in picking it up because I wouldn’t need a lot of it anyway. My sudden pimple problem has been solved, and I still have a few patches left.
