This Inexpensive Cleansing Balm Is My New Go-To

Here's my honest review of the Luxe Organix Cleansing Balm.

If you’re still using makeup wipes, why? There are a few options for first cleansing that don’t involve excess waste, and the cleansing balm has become my new favorite. I used to be a cleansing oil gal, but the Luxe Organix Cleansing Balm changed that for me. Let’s break it down.

The Luxe Organix Cleansing Balm comes in a jar with a spatula.

Packaging, scent, texture

The Luxe Organix Melt Away Cleansing Balm comes in a small tub, which is typical for such cleansers. The good thing is that it also comes with a spatula. Don’t you hate it when you have products in jars but don’t have a spatula? It also has a second lid for extra protection.

This product comes in two variants. I picked the Lemon one because I’m partial to citrus scents; the other one is rose-scented and I’m not really a fan of that.

The Luxe Organix Cleansing Balm has a firm texture but still melts quite well onto the skin.

It has a firm texture that doesn’t melt right away or upon contact on the skin.

Application

The good thing about the Luxe Organix Cleansing Balm is it doesn’t feel too oily. I’ve tried oil cleansers in the past and they work great, but there’s just something about feeling slimy while removing your makeup that doesn’t sit well with me. So I’m glad that this one is a bit firmer, if you will. It still moves the products you’re removing around, as you would expect from this type of cleanser but nothing you’ll feel icky about.

A little also goes a long way. I try to stay within the spatula’s indentation when scooping out the product and if I’m wearing light makeup, that would already be enough. On days where I wear waterproof stuff, I double the amount and that’s good to go. I wash it off with water and follow it up with a gel cleanser.

Claims, final thoughts

The Luxe Organix Cleansing Balm claims to be able to melt away (hah) waterproof makeup, clean away impurities from the skin — all while keeping your skin’s moisture intact. I agree that it can remove waterproof makeup, but there are some products, such as the eye stuff, that need a bit more effort to remove. I have not used this solely for double cleansing without makeup on so I can’t attest to how good it is for cleaning away skin’s impurities. It does keep its promise of not drying out the skin, so that’s good.

At P379 for 50ml and using just a small amount each time, this really is a budget-friendly pick (especially when you consider other made-in-Korea brands — yup, this is made in Korea). This is so far my favorite first-cleanse product, and I think you should give it a try too.
