Does The Revlon Powder Blush In Mauvelous Suit All Looks?

Here's a review of the Revlon Powder Blush in Mauvelous.

A few months ago I went to the department store near our place and bought around 20 pieces of makeup. It was on impulse, so I relied on what I remembered from the hundreds of YouTube videos I watched, and the opinion of the people behind the makeup counters I visited.

Some of the products I bought were great, a couple of them were awful because the salesperson recommended a shade that’s too light for me. I know that the blame should be on me because it’s my skin so I should be the master of it, but my husband’s cousin went to the same counter and was sold the same shade by the same person — my husband’s cousin is a couple of shades darker than me.

Before you leave this page, I’d like to clarify that yes, this is about the Revlon Powder Blush in Mauvelous (P575 on Lazada). And yes, I asked if it suits all makeup looks in the headline. I asked because the person who sold me the wrong foundation claimed that and I wanted to know if she was only trying to reach her sales quota when she “recommended” it to me.

Does the Revlon Powder Blush in Mauvelous really suit all looks?

Packaging

Like most Revlon products, the Revlon powder blush is housed in a sleek packaging. Their powder products, to me, look old-fashioned and classic. The box has a transparent portion, from which you can see the product. It’s a bit deceiving though if you haven’t seen them open before picking the product up because only half of the box actually carries the powder; the other half holds the brush (that doesn’t really do anything for me). It also has a tiny mirror, which I rarely use.

Feel, Color, Longevity

The product is soft and silky to the touch. The color is just slightly purple and is more of a muted pink with just a tiny hint of blue to me. What the amount of product lacks, it makes up for pigmentation. The Revlon Powder Blush in Mauvelous packs on just the right amount of color. One swipe will give you a natural flush. The product also stays on the skin for hours.

Final thoughts

As for the sales person’s claim, I would have to say that she wasn’t lying about it. I’ve tried using the blush during casual days where I barely put eyeshadow on and daring date nights when I go a bit crazy on smoking my eyelids. The color is neutral and can go from hot summer days to cold December nights.

I still can’t forget about the bad foundation recommendation, as you may have already noticed, so much so that I haven’t gone back to the Revlon makeup counter the sales person is stationed. But I’m glad she at least didn’t dupe me with the Revlon Powder Blush in Mauvelous.
