Contouring is the technique of choice for many people who dabble in makeup. I like the idea of shaping the face, too, but what I’m really fond of doing is putting on highlighter. The glow excites me!
I’ve already introduced the only “proper” highlighter in my stash. This time I’ll share the other product I use to achieve shimmery, lit-from-within, glowing skin: the Shiseido Hydro Powder Eye Shadow in Bare Pink.

It was given to me by my husband’s cousin, along with the MAC Warm Soul Mineralize Blush that I absolutely adore.
Packaging, texture
To put it simply, the Shiseido Hydro Powder Eye Shadow is a cream eyeshadow. Its texture is similar to other products of the same nature.

Despite its name, the product’s color leans toward the peach spectrum. It does have a tiny hint of pink, but the color barely shows. (Maybe Barely Pink should have been a better name.)
The product has some glitter but nothing of the annoying kind. From afar you can barely notice them. When you put on just a little, the product melds into the skin. It gives off a natural glow when used on its own, but I like taking things up a notch when it comes to highlighting so I top it off with my powder illuminator.

It works perfectly as an eyeshadow, too! I swipe some of it on my lids when I can’t be bothered to think of an eye look. The convenience and versatility of the product already get high points for me, but the longevity seals the deal. It stays on well. If your lids are prone to oiling up, I suggest topping it off with a shimmery eyeshadow to prolong its wear.
P.S. Here’s what the Shiseido Hydro Powder Eye Shadow looks like when blended out. Swoon-worthy, yeah? Too bad it’s been discontinued.
