Part of my day job is to find out what the latest trends are and tell people about them. When it comes to trying them out, though, I am not as brave as I would like to be. I’d like to think I’m open to a lot of things when it comes to beauty, but I’m still rather conservative when it comes to riding hypes. There are a few things I want to give a shot, though.
Facial wash as brush cleaner

I made a brush cleaning video before. Although I think it’s still a great way to clean your filthy tools, I’m trying out something new (to me), which is using a facial cleanser. I have quite a few cleansers that don’t work well on my skin and don’t have anyone to give to, so I may as well use them for something else. I cleaned my brushes this morning using this method, and I think it went well. I’ll try it again next week to see if I like this method better than the one I used to use.
Hair affair

My hair has been pushed to the bottom of my priority list, which is sad because I used to have really nice (long, straight, dark) hair. I’m not sure what the issue is, but I can’t be bothered to pay attention to my hair lately. I just wash it (twice a week), dry shampoo in between washes, put it in a bun if I hate the way I look when it’s done, and that’s it.
I’m gonna try giving my hair the care it needs, so I’m gonna do a technique a colleague of mine taught me. She said shampoo should only be used on the scalp and conditioner should be just at the tips. Makes sense cos you don’t want limp hair at the top, but what about the dirt on the lower part of your hair? Anyway, I’m going to try it for days I do actually wash my hair.
Flawless foundation hack

You may have already seen this flawless foundation hack. The one where you put translucent powder before your liquid foundation. Wayne Goss popularized this trick, I think. While it’s more effective for people with oily skin, I’m still trying it anyway because dear friends I am no longer a dry-skinned gal. Remember what I said about us being ever-changing? Well, my skin has decided to be oily on the t-zone. So I’m gonna use this trick in that area. They say you need to use a loose translucent powder, though. I currently don’t have one. So I’m going to use a colored loose powder and a compact translucent one. Wish me luck!
