The Foreo Luna Mini 2 Is a Game-Changer

The title of this post is quite a big statement, especially coming from someone who’s always skeptical about hyped up products. Beauty gadgets are a whole different story. I don’t really care for gadgets, beauty-related or otherwise. I don’t own the latest phone. You know, that type of thing. But I’m always open to trying anything (so long as it’s not illegal or bad for you). So I popped my beauty gadget cherry and gave the Foreo Luna Mini 2 a whirl. And yes, my friends, (just like Elphaba when she met Glinda) I have been changed for good.

What does the Foreo Luna Mini 2 claim to do?

It’s a sonic face brush that promises gentle yet effective cleansing. They say you only need to use it for one minute twice a day to get clearer and smoother skin. Unlike its previous versions, the Luna Mini 2 has eight levels of sonic pulsation intensity so you can choose which mode you want depending on your skin type and needs.   It has three cleansing zones. There’s the one with tinier bristles for general cleansing. Just above it is for precision cleansing. At the back, with broader silicone bristles, is for deeper cleansing and is recommended for people with oily skin.

How do you use it?

The front of the Foreo Luna Mini 2 in Fuchsia. You can see the general cleansing (thinner bristles) and precise cleansing (broader bristles) zones.

First, wet your face and apply your cleanser. Turn on the Foreo Luna Mini 2 and glide it on different sections of the face in a circular motion. It pauses for a second as a signal to change to a different area. Once you’re done with your entire face, just rinse with water.

The results

You can already tell what I think about the results of using this by the title of this post. I was okay before I used this product, really. But after my experience with it, I don’t know if I can do my routine without a cleansing gadget anymore. My face felt smoother and softer even after just the first use. My husband and a colleague also noticed that my skin had a nice glow to it just after a couple of times using it. Now that I’ve been using it for a couple of months, it’s become a habit to use it. My face still feels smooth and soft. The other products in my routine get absorbed quicker.

Will I urge you to buy the Foreo Luna Mini 2? If you have the money to shell out for it — it’s really expensive at P8,110 (PHP7,500~ when I wrote this!) at Sephora.ph — I suggest you do. It really changed the game for me in terms of beauty tools.

But I’d also like to say thank god this was sent to me because I don’t think I’ll ever be able to justify such a big purchase. And I know that it contradicts how I’ve touted the product, but it’s true. If there’s one thing I dislike about it, it’s the price. I’m sure it warrants its hefty price tag — it works really well!

I’m not sure if other gadgets will work just as well as this one, but I’d probably settle for a cheaper alternative just because I can’t afford beauty purchases as big as that. But it is an investment piece. They guarantee that you can use the product for as long as 10 years. They also offer a 2-year warranty should it stop working as well as it promises. Plus, you don’t have to buy batteries for it nor charge it often. I haven’t charged it since I got it a couple of months ago, and it’s still working really well. And yes, I will continue using this gadget for as long as it doesn’t die on me.
