Work From Home Benefits That Will Inspire You

Work from home benefits that will inspire you to do remote work.

It’s no secret that the traffic in Metro Manila is hellish. I’ve escaped that a few years ago, but I can’t help but feel bad for those who still suffer. (Not to mention how callous our government is about it. I mean, did you see the farcical display made by Panelo?) Anyway, times like this, I’m really grateful that I live a remote life. But I wish other people would have the chance to do so, too! If you’ve been considering making the switch, here are work from home benefits that will definitely inspire you.

No long commutes

Like I mentioned, one of the many benefits of working from home is you don’t have to do long commutes. Your office is your home. Depending on the work hours you get, you can add the number of hours you’d spend commuting to sleeping.

Since you’re not commuting, you’re also lessening your carbon footprint.

One of the best benefits of a remote life is not commuting every day, ergo, not waking up too early.

More time with loved ones

They say you should always pick quality over quantity. But when you have a growing child, it’s difficult to not feel bad for not being there most of the time. Sure, you’re there for birthdays and other special occasions. But a lot of things happen in between those times! And, truly, those little things that you don’t really deem extraordinary might be what’s remarkable for them. I’m happy that I’m able to spend as much time as I can with our daughter, especially since we also homeschool her.

More quiet and less stressful environment

I’ve experienced a boss who shouted at people a lot — and I mean A LOT — and I’ve also experienced working with someone who’s just talking on the phone the whole day. Both instances were quite stressful. So the added buffer of not seeing your colleagues even though there might be some kinks that need to be ironed out is great. It’s sometimes difficult to get the tone of the person you’re talking to through Skype messaging, but there’s nothing a question for clarification can’t fix.

Less distraction

I mentioned in a video sharing what the remote life is like for me that productivity depends upon the worker and that it’s a case-by-case basis. But a recent research revealed that one of the best work from home benefits both the worker and employer can enjoy is more productivity. Remote workers are also less distracted than those who work in an office setting.

It's also easier to achieve work-life balance when you work at home.

Work-life balance

Let’s face it: working in an office-setting kinda makes you feel like you’re caged. I know that’s how it felt for me! Which is why I chose to live a remote life. I want to be able to actually live my life and not spend it so much inside four walls. While I still technically do that because I work inside the four walls of my home most of the time, one of the work from home benefits I really appreciate is that I get to bring my work anywhere. So I can live my life and do work I’m proud of at the same time.
