In search of a destination where you can get utter relaxation without a super long drive? Calayo Beach may be just what you’re looking for.
This spot in Nasugbu, Batangas is slowly becoming a popular area for Metro Manila dwellers who are looking to be away from the hustle and bustle of city living. That’s for good reason, of course — the area offers lots of opportunities to commune with nature, enjoy scrumptious local food, and just let go.
Calayo Beach can be found in a fisher’s village, so the vibe is very organic here. The waters are clear and swimmable. The sand is beige in color and darkens when it comes to contact with water. (For some reason, many people are particular about this but we definitely think this shouldn’t be a gamechanger for any destination).
The area also offers a view of the hills of Sitio Hulo. A river, which you can explore by kayak, is also nearby.
While already gaining popularity, Calayo Beach remains a bit of an underrated spot. There are many accommodations and resorts now here though if you want to enjoy its surplus of activities.

How to get to Calayo Beach
By public commute
- Take a bus from Pasay, Buendia, Cubao or PITX heading to Nasugbu.
- Once you arrive at the town proper, ride a tricycle and ask to be taken to Brgy. Calayo or the beach resort you booked a stay at.
By private vehicle
- Simply pin the location of the resort you’re heading to on Google Maps and Waze and drive away! Some people say it’s better to take the Ternate, Cavite route though since it’s a bit faster than going through Tagaytay, especially during weekends.
