Home cafes became quite popular because of the imposed lockdowns. While some parts of the world are already easing their way back to normalcy, many of us are still cooped up at home (no thanks to incompetent governance). I caught just a bit of the coffee creation bug, but my sister was so into it. She picked up syrups, as well as glasses and canisters, which she then gifted me. So I decided to try one of the more popular drinks during quarantine — after the Dalgona craze, of course, which happened during the early part of the lockdown. Here’s my version of the famous Iced Caramel Macchiato.
You can watch the video above or follow the recipe below.
Iced Caramel Macchiato Recipe (Starbucks hack?)

The original recipe calls for espresso, but I’ve taken the liberty to make a version using just brewed coffee. Below’s everything you’ll need.
- brewed coffee (cold or hot, it’s up to you)
- two tablespoons of caramel
- a cup of milk
- a tablespoon of vanilla
- ice — lots of it
There might be a specific way to make iced caramel macchiato if you’re in a professional setting, but my home cafe says just put all the ingredients together in a glass and you’re good to go. Adjust the sweetness to your liking! If I make my coffee quite strong, I add a tiny bit more caramel — you get the drift. Feel free to add whipped cream, too.
