Okay, we’re starting over.

My sights were already set on doubling the number of hits I get on this site per month, and then doubling that, and then doubling it again. You get it. Well, let’s just say I’d have to change my focus.

If you follow this blog on Instagram or Facebook, you’d know that this was dead for a minute (a few days, actually) because I forgot to renew my hosting plan. So my provider assumed I didn’t want to keep this anymore and put my stuff in the junkyard of the Internet. When I found out, I almost decided to just leave this rotting in the recesses of the web.

What was the point? Everything’s gone! It’s hard to start over!

My mind just kept yelling all the negatives. I won’t lie, I almost gave up.

Then I remembered that this site is already four years old. I’ve spent four years sharing a portion of my life (and a lot of my thoughts) here. This isn’t my life’s work. But I’ve spent time (and money) to keep this alive. Along the way, I’ve learned a lot about myself and others, as well as new skills. In the end, it didn’t make sense to quit.

I guess the point of this post is to say that this space is back (in case you didn’t know it was gone). I have a lot of drafts waiting to be finished, lots of places and experiences I want to share.

I also want to say that it’s okay to start over again (and again and again). “Life’s just like that,” I tell myself every now and again when I remember how many posts I’ve lost. It’s true, though. The beauty of being alive is in having chances — to do right, to do good, to try.
