You won’t need to fly out to Singapore to get a taste of Tiong Bahru Bakery’s bestsellers soon. Jollibee Foods Corporation is bringing the beloved Singaporean brand to Manila — though a tentative opening date has not been shared.

The fast food giant will also bring in Common Man Coffee Roasters to the Philippines, eyeing the opening of an outlet sometime this year.

Why is Tiong Bahru Bakery famous?

Tiong Bahru Bakery prides itself on being the ‘best French bakery’ in Singapore. Centered on the idea of being a staple in vibrant neighborhoods, the brand serves fresh, handmade pastries, coffee and more. There are 16 Tiong Bahru Bakery stores across Singapore and Malaysia.

Since it’s a French bakery, the croissant is undoubtedly a staple. But its kouign amann is the one that truly shines! The Breton pastry has a crispy exterior but is rich, buttery soft inside. Oh and did you know that it smells oh so good too? So much so that the brand made a handwash bearing its scent. (There’s also a variant that has a brioche fragrance.)

If you’re a fan of more flavors, the bakery also has a selection of savory and sweet pastries (from chicken burgers to chocolate eclairs).

But the brand is not just a bakery, it’s evolved into a lifestyle concept and offers its own merch. Yup, just like the big guys. Keep an eye out on whether it’ll bring its cute tote bags, enamel and insulated cups, and reusable masks here too.
