Nu Skin ageLOC Gentle Cleanse and Tone *
Being a work-at-home mom to a toddler is no easy job. Don’t get me wrong, I love that I have the luxury of seeing and being with my daughter all the time. Some days are busier than others, though, so having to spend less time on personal things has somewhat become a priority. (You can count on me doing rituals aka putting makeup on like a mad woman and doing all kinds of at-home treatments when I have more time than usual, though.)
So, products that multi-task are delightful discoveries. One product that has proven to be a wonderful addition to my beauty arsenal without adding to my beauty time is the Nu Skin ageLOC Gentle Cleanse and Tone cleanser-and-toner-in-one.
I was given a sample of the product when I covered an event for the company a couple of months ago. It’s part of their revamped ageLOC line, which consists of other skincare products that aim to defy skin aging. I was told during the event that the products should not be used with products from other brands because it might cause allergic reactions or breakouts. I wanted to try it out first, though, before deciding whether I’d commit to purchasing the entire line, which to be honest, is far from affordable.
The product comes in a silver-grey can that has a pump. Packaging-wise, it’s a far cry from ones you can buy from the drugstore, I’ll give it that. The product itself is different from ones I’ve used before — I’ve gone from being a Pond’s girl to a Dove convert to a Clean and Clear user —because it’s foamy.
When I apply it, I feel a bit of sting, but nothing to make me think that my skin would fall off after rinsing. It might be because I don’t use lukewarm water, as advised, or I just have very sensitive skin. It’s not an unpleasant feeling, though, so I don’t really mind.
The product claims to “target the sources of aging to preserve the look of youth and reduce the appearance of aging, cleanse and purify skin, preparing the skin to receive anti-aging ingredients, replenish and maintain skin’s moisture and increase healthy hydration, work at the skin’s own natural healthy pH, helping to preserve skin’s natural moisture, and is formulated with mild cleansing ingredients gentle enough for all skin types.”
I can’t say I look younger than my age but I can attest to the product’s effectiveness in sealing in moisture on my skin. Ever since using this, I’ve felt my skin absorb moisturizer better. I once absentmindedly touched my face and was surprised to feel it was as soft as my toddler’s.
I’ve learned that the Nu Skin ageLOC Cleanse and Tone works well and won’t react differently when used with products that are not part of the ageLOC line.
Would I purchase a new canister when I run out? Probably not. And that’s just because it retails for roughly Php2,200.
*The product was given to me as a freebie from an event I covered a couple of months ago. I was not paid to make this review. And even if I were paid, my thoughts won’t get swayed. This piece, along with everything else on this blog, is honest and bulls**t-free. 😉
