A new H&M designer collection is soon to be upon us — and this time it’s in collaboration with the house of Mugler!

The collaboration, set to launch in spring this year — that’s sometime from March to June in our region — has been confirmed by both fashion companies.
The collection, directed by house of Mugler creative director Casey Cadwallader, will ‘encapsulate the unique and vibrant spirit of Mugler’. The luxury fashion house has amassed a huge following thanks to its one-of-a-kind ‘glamazon’ aesthetic.
If you’re not too familiar with Mugler, you can take a look at the brand’s creations worn recently by celebs. There’s Cardi B’s oyster-inspired Mugler number from the archives for the 2019 Grammys. There’s also Kim Kardashian’s wet look at the 2019 Met Gala.
Details are still hush-hush for now, but we’re expecting an ultra-feminine collection that’s in keeping with the aesthetic that Mugler’s known and loved for — without the hefty price tag, of course!

Is H&M a designer brand?
H&M is one of the biggest high street brands in the world and it operates in a fast-fashion model. Designer clothing refers to luxury clothing that’s considered to be of high quality.
There’s been lots of discussions on whether or not H&M designer collabs are actual designer pieces. But it’s worth noting that when it comes to these collections, it’s H&M’s side that does the production; the fashion houses only direct or design the clothes.
Why does H&M collaborate with designers?
To put it simply, H&M partners with high fashion brands to help elevate its image. These collections also help generate a lot of buzz for both brands. On the consumer’s side, it’s a good way to get a taste of high fashion at an affordable price point.
