You know what undated planners are great for? When you want to start setting goals but don’t know exactly when you’ll have the energy for it. I know that feeling all too well! And you’re not alone, my friend. I took a step back from making a vision board before 2022 ended because I wasn’t ready then. Well, I am now!
Undated planners are a godsend for people like me (and maybe you too!) who get bursts of inspiration when it comes to planning and setting goals. I’ve always felt constricted by traditional diaries, so being able to tailor one exactly to my liking is *chef’s kiss* wonderful.

What is an undated planner?
As the name suggests, planners under this category don’t have dates on them. So you have the liberty to start using them whenever you wish. Does your year start on 12 March? Start on that date — nobody’s gonna judge, promise.
Aside from changing the start date, undated planners also give you the freedom and capability to handle unpredictable changes on your schedule.
Are undated planners good?
What’s good is relative, of course. What may work for you may not work for the next person and vice versa. If you’re thinking of picking up an undated planner but aren’t sure if it will work for you, the first thing to determine is what kind of planner (as in someone who plans) you are.

If you like following things by the book all the time, I say go for a traditional planner. If you’re someone who’s a bit more spontaneous though, I suggest you go for planners that don’t have dates on them; you won’t feel guilty about not filling out dates.
Undated planners are also quite versatile, so you can use them not just for keeping track of things to do so you can stay productive but as someone who doesn’t like to be constricted (I mean, who does, right?) I like the idea that I can use them freely and however I want to.
